Sights of Sedona, Song One - Contemplation

This time-lapse video was recorded from my backyard in Sedona, Arizona facing East towards Schnebly Hill, with the end-of-the-rainbow landing near the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon to the North. One of my favorite scenes captured! You never know in advance what the day will offer, you just hope at some point the ever-changing sunlight and shadows, moving clouds and Red Rocks will fill you with awe at how unbelievably beautiful scenic Sedona can be!

The music was improvised live to CD without edits, sequencing, or overdubs using my Korg 01/w ProX keyboard in one unrehearsed "take". The keyboard was split into two patches allowing the harmony chords to played with my left hand and the melody notes to be played with my right hand. At the time, I think I was just trying to "stay on the path, or at least not to fall off the horse" and experiment with common harmonic progressions (and a few deceptive progressions) on the left hand and melodies, altered modes and passing notes with the right hand. Something suitable to audibly represent the scenic and colorful vastness of a multi-spectral rainbow, dark and ominous clouds, as well as sunlit Red Rocks with sporadic blue skies...
